3-time San Diego Music Awards Nominee, Best Jazz. Nena Anderson's blues inflected jazz stylings are reminiscent of a bygone era; a time when lounges were dark and smoky, cocktails were strong, women wore lipstick and men wore hats. Her distinct phrasing and warm contralto voice may bring to mind the sass and soul of Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O'Day, Dinah Washington or Billie Holiday, yet her voice is truly her own. She has released several songs in Europe and Asia on compilation discs alongside artists such as Jamie Cullum, Cesaria Evora and Nina Simone, including her own bossa nova tune entitled 'Say You'll Be Mine.'
